In order to further this assumtion I generally covered movie soundtracks from the 70's not one contained "Bennie and The Jets" by Elton John although in a pop up 70's music albums and on it Elton john consisted of that song along with "this song has no title"," Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" etc. Hope I Helped. I believe that it was used in the soundtrack to a movie called: "Aloha, Bobby and Rose", starirng Paul LeMat?, in the mid 1970's This movie also used Tiny Dancer by Elton John, and Karn Evil 9 from Emerson, Lake, and Palmer in the soundtrack I am pretty sure this is the movie soundtrack you are thinking of.

Absolutely! "Aloha, Bobby and Rose" was the first PG-rated film I saw as a kid. I actually "snuck in" at an early multiplex theater. The soundtrack was spellbinding to my adolescent mind! Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets" will always remind me of this film. I believe that song played as the Camaro was rolling over in slow motion. Unforgettable!
