  • No, he was a angel.
  • No, an angel of god.
  • Satan.. aka Lucifer. Lucifer was an angel.
  • No,He was the first created being, and he was never a "good" angel ether. He was created evil, as God says in Is 45v8 "I created evil for my purpose" (not an exact quote - but look it up). Christ said of Satan that he was a liar from the beginning. Good question +3

Your comment is not accurate. ALL angels were created with free will...to do good or bad...Satan chose bad. Jehovah God cannot be blamed by saying that HE created bad from the start...If this were so, there would be NO point in free will. (James 1:13) When under trial, let no one say: ?I am being tried by God.? For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone.
  • He/She was.......and still is:(http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7378810)
  • He has always been an angel or demon, (changed when he fell.)+3

This does not answer the question.
  • No, he was an angel.
  • In people's minds, yes. God and satan existing is highly improbable.
  • Most people realize that he was a heavenly being, and that he was excellent and good at his creation. Whether or not he was human in the same way the God became human is a more difficult question. According to the bible, he has and does roam the earth, but his form isn't described. His spirit can posses humans, but there is little evidence that he was born of woman. It is interesting to wonder if the anti-Christ may not be an incarnation of this being in mockery of the true Christ. +5

Almighty God [ Jehovah ] did not become a human...His son Jesus did. Jehovah remained in heaven. (Mark 9:7) And a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: ?This is my Son, the beloved. Listen to him.? A complete separation. Also, Jesus prayed to Jehovah... Making Jesus less than Jehovah...be-lying the trinity idea.
  • I think so. Didn't he morph himself into being Charles Manson?
  • Satan is just another way of explaining the ego or the pull of physical desries on man's pysche.
  • the bible says that he was a great angel who fell and became a great demon. what if he were a part of us, as is god, like on those old tom and jerry cartoons in which a demon and angel are right there with us, we have the knowledge of what's right or wrong, and struggle to decide ...
  • No one knows. He was an angel who got jealous of God and then turned evil. But then people get possessed by demons, soo thats probably the closest you will get to satan being a human being?.
  • The legend has it that the archangel Lucifer (meaning "light bringer") led a revolt of about 1/3 of the angels against God. The other angels, led by the archangel Michael, defeated the rebellious ones and threw them out of heaven. +5
  • satan was never an angel he is a Jinn the Chief Jinn he worshipped God intensely and was granted high esteem by God but when God created man in heaven he told the angels to bow to him all did but satan. satan rebuttled to God and said I am made of fire and he is made of clay. satan's arrogance got if kicked out of heaven. He was no angel but he was allowed to worship God with the angel because of his level of faith. God granted him respite until the day of judgement and satan vowed that he would wait for the decendants of Adam on the rightious path and he will provr to God that they are not worthy of the granduer that God attributed to them. So he waits and wisphers in every facit of our lives hoping to pull us into evil by suggestions so that he may be joined in hell by as many of mankind as possible.
  • Was Satan once a human being? The simple answer is no. Satan is described in Ezekiel 28:12-19, and there he is given the Title of the king of Tyrus. The description that follows cannot be that of any earthly king. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Eze 28:14 Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Eze 28:15 Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Eze 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain. Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Eze 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Eze 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more. Now if you can tell me how a human being can do all of that, then perhaps I will listen to your theory of how satan may have been a human. By the way, my understanding of the mormon religion, or more formally that of church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has a belief that Jesus and Satan are brothers of Yaweh, the father god. And that God the father was once human. Further they believe that good mormons will one day become the gods of their own planets and have continual sex with their spirit wives to make spirit babies to take on bodies and inhabit those worlds. So that may be where your question is leading.
  • nope. He was an angel I guess
    • Jenny_Rizzo
      Your guess is correct.
  • No, he has always been a spirit. I don't think he ever appeared in human form.
  • No, Satan was never a human being and never will be. Satan was the highest ranking angel in heaven, second only to the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Satan, grew proud and thought that he was equal to God, and deserved the same worship as God. Since sin and perfect holiness cannot exist in the same place God cast Satan out of heaven. Satan currently, roams the earth seeking to deceive and destroy the souls of people in an effort to divert as many as he can from finding the truth of salvation through Christ alone. Satan is the author of lies and will someday at the final judgment be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity along with those he has deceived where they will be permanently separated from God and all things holy for all eternity.
  • an angel and i would know
  • No...Satan was created as an angel who wrongly used his " god given" gift of free will to seek worship for himself... Angels have free will just like people have. But HOW do we use it..??? To be obedient to Jehovah god's directions or not...
  • No, the Bible teaches he was a created angel by the name of Lucifer. Then he rebelled against God and became Satan, which literally means "adversary" in Hebrew. (Isaiah 14:12); (1 Peter 5:8)
  • Hmm! He was an upstart angel, to the best of my knowledge - too big for his boots!
  • Satan is a fictional character.
  • Its your screenplay. You decide.
  • i think he was a fallen angel
  • No he was an angel name Lucifer until he fell.
  • Satan or more correctly Lucifer (meaning light or enlightened one) was created as an angel. He was the highest ranking archangel. He thought he should be equal with God and tried to take over Heaven. God removed him from Heaven along with a third of the angels.
  • No, he never received a body. Not him or the third of the host of heaven that was cast down with him after the war in heaven. They were angels who turned to demons when they chose evil over good when they wanted to control the choices of humans instead of letting them choose for themselves. Many people don't understand that humans have dominion over angels/demons and can command them. I encourage you to read from the source, pray and decide for yourself.

I appreciate not everyone believes the same. You are all entitled to your opinion, and I expect you to respect my right to mine .I get my information from the scriptures and confirm it with discernment from the Holy Spirit. I don't need to be corrected by fallible humans, thank you!

Evidently angels can take a human form. There were 200 angels who came to earth and found the women to be fair of beauty. They married the women and had children with them. These children were very huge in stature some believed being over 300 feet tall. they are known as the nephilum and are spoken of in the Book of Genesis and also in the Book of Enoch. This is one of the main reasons God flooded the earth was to get rid of the nephilum. The giant David slew with his sling was believed to be of nephilun decent.
  • In Christian fiction, The Satan was a rebellious angel. Objectively, he is a poor copy of Ahriman a Zoroastrian deity who opposes Ahura Mazda. The Satan is not in the Bible until the time of the "Persian Captivity". When Jewish priest were exposed to Persian Zoroastrianism, they realized it was a good idea to have separate gods for good and evil. Before that time, YHWH was responsible for both good and evil. He is an evil character indeed. It was claearly a serpent who tempted Eve in Genesis. Later, in the New Testament, the serpent is identified with The Satan. In Exodus, God harden a pharaoh's heart to have an excuse to send plagues upon Egypt and kill all its first born. That was an evil act of YHWH! There are many more. He is a savage in the Old Testament.
  • The Bible does not suggest so. The Bible *suggests* (does not plainly state) that Satan used to be an angel. There is no indication in the Bible that any human ever became an angel. They seem to be distinct types of beings.
  • No he was an angel
  • IDK, it wasn't until after I left her that I decided that she wasn't very human at that time. But as far as before we met, I can't say...
  • No he was once a highly exalted angel very highly honored and prized by God God says in the Old testament as he is grieving the loss of one of his sons Lucifer oh Lucifer how thou has fallen you were perfect in all your ways the bright and shining one until iniquity was found in you and you said come and let us go up into heaven and make our home with God this is incidentally how the false doctrine of going to heaven after you die was started
  • No he was once an angel
  • No. Not according to the myth. He was once an angel, who existed before human beings were ever created.
  • No, Satan was never a human being. He was an angel.
