Never tried that. I use red wine with beef usually. Have you used beer? What is the taste of the beef like? :)

Yes, Simmer beef in it to make my stew and a little wheat beer in a soup stock is nice too!

Personally, no. I've had German style beef dishes where the cook used beer and it was tasty. I do, however, use a can of beer along with water, for steaming shell fish such as shrimp and crab. The outcome is always flavorful. +5

I made a Belgian Beef stew once that was beef-in-beer. It was delicious, but a lot of work!

Many recipes for Irish stew include adding Guinness to the pot.

Almost any liquid that tastes good to begin with can be used to cook meat in. Even coke.
