A little out of place. I needed to get to know some of the people and get friendly and civil with them. It works.

Yes. My best friends family. There are 5 women and 1 man along with all of their families. I felt totally at home. We've been friends for 58 years and they've always treated me as just another one of them.

As anything like that, even (especially) my own family. HIDEOUS :)

Yes. I felt fine. why?
-
The closest thing I had was when I was a young teenager and there was a Christmas gathering of my uncle's side of the family. I didn't know anybody there and was bored to death.

It feels awkward at first, but then I warm up to most people.

I went with my husbands cousin (who was married in) their family reunions are a blast and are held at a beautiful park on a big ol' hill. They had all kinds of activites and a white elephant that you could steal and swap gifts before they were opened. At our reunions we eat and scatter so it was a exciting new experience.
