I know some of the people on the production team and they said it was not a true story as the sotry was written. It was inspired by a series of unassociated stories like most movies are. The movie was made for under $100K and has grossed $10 million in box office revenues. DVD sales are good.

It is not real...however there is one story very similar to this...it occured at Aurora Christian in Illinois where former NFL great Don Beebe took over a failing football program and then went 12-0.
