Yep. I bought an old Samsung 21" CRT TV from Goodwill (charity store) for only $6.00 USD. It works perfectly. The original remote was lost so I'm using a "universal" remote that I bought years ago. I had to program the remote to talk to the TV, which took half an hour of fiddling. Samsung is a good brand, and I'm happy with the analog quality. I hate advertising. Cable TV is crammed with so much advertising nowadays I'm not even tempted to pay extra for "digital cable," just to watch advertising in High Definition. Screw Comcast and the other cable companies. I wish others would join me, but I guess that's too much to ask. My fellow 'muricans are obsessed with passive entertainment. They'll pay any amount to watch American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and celebrity scandals.

Linda JoyI quit paying for cable back when they put a dish in the back yard and every time it rained the cable went out. My son got it reinstalled when he started earning money. But he's been independent for at least 15 years. Which is probably when this question was written. lol

There's not supposed to be any solicitation on AB. Are you selling extended warranties? - ;-)

-
Nope... I think its been 10 years since I bought one.
-
I've had my TV for around 6-7 years. I think its time to get an upgrade, to be able to play PS3 and watch movies at MAXIMUM POWER!
-
yes,a 32"
-
No; I brought for about over 9 year ago.
-
I bought a new one, watched it less and less and then sold it. There just seems to be so many channels now and so little on them that is really interesting. I sold my vcr, then I got a dvd recorder and then I sold it. I think I recorded five or six programs or films in the three years I had it.
-
I've never bought a TV, I've just been given old ones. The one I have now, I've had for around 10 years and is probably near 20 years old. It still works well enough. -knocking on wood, yet again-
-
No. My TV was bought in 2000
-
Yes. I got a "smart" tv. I use quotes because the interface is so bad, so clunky and slow, that I ended up getting a firestick to use in place of the OS. In other words: the tv part works great, its the smart part that isn't so, well... smart.

It's smart enough for what it is designed to do. https://www.consumerreports.org/privacy/how-to-turn-off-smart-tv-snooping-features/

Yes. I bought a 50" 4K Insignia Fire TV about a year ago.
-
Yes, it was bigger and clearer. I like to stay up-to-date with the latest in technology.
-
Probably not in the past 20 years!!!
-
No, I bought mine about 6 years ago & it was up to date at the time so it's a 4K smart tv, does everything I want from a TV.
-
Yes I bought a new tv about a year ago.
-
No. I bought my TV 20 years ago
-
No. Haven't watched one in 5 years other than while waiting at the hospital.
-
Nope but my current Tele has conked out so will be buying one soon.
-
No, my cheapo Insignia NS-19D220NA16-A I got at BestBuy for $39 is over five years old. I seldom use it but for playing music CDs, or the occasional movie DVD. Comcast is long gone, as is that worthless Mohu Leaf antenna.

Just bought a new one on Amazon Prime Day.
