I'd guess at Turkey. The Afghan poppy crop has thoroughly recovered since the Taleban were deposed, and I think a lot of the opium is refined into hroin there for transhipment elsewhere.

I might have guessed Thailand, just from what I've read in books and things. It's only a guess though, I'm not sure.

An estimated 90 percent of the world's opium gum production occurs in Afghanistan. www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov/drugfact/heroin/index.html this opium has been sold to America and the west by the Taliban to undermine American morality. One more reason why the US and its allies had to go in.
