  • it's always too late its cruel and unnessisary
  • Yes, it needs to be done by a professional and doesn't need to be done at all unless you,re planning on fighting them.
  • WTF would you want to cut off your dog's ears ... ? Supose someone wanted to cut off an appendage of YOURS ? That is just downright cruel and uncalled for ...
  • For dogs, yes. I forgot the exact age though, and don't want to guess. You could call your vet, and he'll let you know.
  • there is never a need for ear cropping, nor tail cropping. leave the dog alone.
  • Most of the time, cropping has to be done within the first 12 weeks. But there's no reason for it to be done at all. A dog looks better with its natural ears.
  • I've heard people doing this when they are wanting to fight their dog. If this is your intention, you shouldn't have a dog at all. If it's not your intention, go & have your ears cut & then decide if you want to do it to your dog.
  • Why would you want to cause pain to your pet? How could anyone enjoy such a thing? Too late, not to late.
  • What FOR??? How would you like someone to cut your ears?
  • They must be puppies when you have the ears cropped (12 wks or less) and only people who show dogs really need to have it done. The only other reasons people will crop dogs ears is to fight them or try to make them look tuff. It is very painful and only a vet should crop a puppies ears. Since you are talking about a pit bull no need to crop the ears can't show them in dog show anyway.
  • I agree 100% with everyone else here. PLEASE don't do it. It really is a painful and unnecessary procedure. It doesn't add anything to quality of life and the ears can become more prone to infections as they let in more rain, moisture, dirt, etc. And technically it probably IS too late.
