  • No that is right as sports makes it plural and if if an 's would make it possesive as belonging to the sport's.
  • I would go for the first option - no apostrophe because it is the day on which plural sports occur. It doesn't belong to a, or many, sports. In "the school's sports day", the day belong definitely to the school, so it cannot belong to the sports as well.
