Not if I can always tick the Black and White button so I can see the films in their original state.

They didn't need to do that at all.A good movie doesn't need any extra "help".

Yes I do. It's changing the vision of the director. He saw it in B&W, planned the scenes in B&W, picked the sets in B&W and it's his movie! It's just as bad and pan and scan, where someone else choose what the audience will see and what they won't.
