Even using pills is not 100% effective, and condoms aren't either. The only 100% method for preventing pregnancy is to not have sex at all.

Condoms(male/female), no sex, spermacide, wire coat hanger.

The best way is to not have sex! There are many other ways of having fun without exposing yourself to having sex. Most people these days always use a condom to protect themselves from a possible infection. When the "pill" was first developed, figures show that STD's increased by around 40%.

Everyone else has listed the more obvious answers, so I'll add some less well-known options for your consideration: 1. IUD--Can be inserted into the uterus (by a doctor) and left there up to 10 years. Its effectiveness rate is equivalent to the pills, and you can have a non-hormonal IUD if you don't like the idea of being pumped full of artificial hormones. 2. Natural family planning--Ideally, you should only use this if you're in a long-term, monogamous relationship and you can financially support a child if the method fails. What you do is keep track of your cycle on a calendar or use the Cycle beads bracelet: http://www.cyclebeads.com/how/ The calendar or bracelet enables you to track your fertile days. Then you simply practice abstinence on your fertile days (which means you can also use a barrier method like a condom when you do want sex). Some natural family planning kits also include a thermometer that you use to take your basal body temperature. Your basal body temperature changes throughout your cycle, so keeping track of it will also help you know your fertile days with more certainty. Do be aware that this method is 95% effective. It's not for everyone, but if you're a conscientious person and you can't or don't want to take hormones, it will work. 3. Diaphragm--You must go to your doctor to be fitted and insert it whenever you have sex, so only do it if you don't mind exercising a little bit of planning before sex.
