  • In 2002, the Oakland A's won twenty games straight, the longest streak since baseball went to a 162-game season. In the last game they lost an eleven-run lead before winning in the bottom of the ninth on a home run by Scott Hatteberg. In 1935, the Cubs won 21 in a row, but this was only in a 154-game season. The 1916 Giants (then in New York) won 26 in a row, but only played 152 games, and the streak was interrupted by a 1-1 tie against Pittsburgh. This game didn't count in the final standings though.
  • I don't see where it should matter how long the season is - a winning streak is a winning streak. 152, 154 or 162, who cares. The Cubs went 21 WINS in a row. The Giants only had a 14 game winning streak, followed by a tie (not a loss, but not a win either) The correct answer should be the Cubs.
  • The Montreal Expos won 85 games in a row with Vladamir Guerrero and Maicer Izturiz
  • in 2007 the Westford Academy JV baseball team went undefeated winning 19 games in a row and including 4 in the summer had 23 consecutive wins making it longest all time
  • The First Professional Team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings won it's first 130 games.
  • The best ever is 26 by the New York Giants, but they had a tie in it. The Chicago Cubs had a 21 game win streak, but it wasn't a 162 game season. However, the Oakland A's got a 20 game win streak in 2002, which became the longest win streak in a 162 game season. So the answer to your question will be 20 by the Oakland A's in 2002.

  • Actually, the Toronto Blue Jays (the best baseball team of all time) one season had a 162 game win streak. This streak will never again be attainable again by the Blue Jays due to the fact that they released Frank Thomas, this man could switch hit/bunt homeruns, a legend forever. Behind this streak is the NY Giants. But in all honesty, the Jays totally dominate any other team.
  • You need to determine the length of the season in this question because otherwise the reds simply dominate... They were the first and only professional baseball team for a time and traveled playing other teams around the country. But it is and always was considered a professional team and therefore season.
  • There is nothing like bias towards your fave team Toronto Blue Jays indeed. In the strictest sense of the question the The oakland Athletics are the record holders with their 20 in 2002. Also due to the super level of competition now, that record may stand forever. Even winnin 12 straight now is special. The Rockies are looking good right now with 10.
