  • While I am generally against the death penalty, I could see the arguments for it in the cases of: - Rape Child Molestation Murder and War Crimes
  • i support it but don't have five top crimes to list...I believe in eye for an eye i guess...you murder you get killed..you rape you get raped..maybe the rape of a child should be punished by death..
  • Murder in many cases Serious cases of child molestation Serious rape cases Kidnapping, child or adult in which the kidnapped dies - even accidentally Serious cases of espionage
  • In my book, there is no reason for the death penalty. It's simply too drastic. Dozens of people have been either executed or nearly executed for crimes they did not commit. Check out the Innocence Project for more information: http://www.innocenceproject.org/ Additionally, since the cost of executing a prisoner is greater than that of keeping him or her imprisoned for life, there's no reason at all for execution.
  • I am so torn with my decision on that. But, I would agree with "MrJosh". If there is no doubt of someones guilt, I could see it being justified. I hate to think of all those on death row that indeed are not guilty. Could you imagine how that must feel?
  • 1. Stealing 2 consecutive presidential elections 2. Lying to 300 million people repeatedly 3. Invading a country to take its oil supplies & spending 136 billion of the people's money in the process whilst making them pay $5 for a gallon of gas 4. Extreme stupidity 5. Stealing 700 Billion of the working class money and giving it to the rich May I continue or is this enough?
  • I am anti death penalty....people should be taken from society for many reasons....the usual ones of murder, rape, etc are definite...but the people who have taken the well being of so many through fraud should be given life sentences too...all the big corporations that have recently come to light, that have taken away the retirement funds of thousands of people should get life terms...to be given million dollar fines and a few years in jail is deplorable...they should have every asset taken away from their families as they did to thousands...it is called deterrent...I would feel bad for the wives and children...but not so much as I do for all the retirees....maybe if they knew the people they loved would be paupers because of their doings...they wouldn't do it....greed sickens me as you can tell...
  • The death penalty is little more than an instrument of revenge. I don't believe any person should be put to death by the state for any crime.
  • Simply put. Anyone that performs a crime that they are completely aware was wrong, without bending their reasoning around a creed or a belief system that is not in line with reality or the rest of society as a whole. I believe that extensive mental health and psychological backrounds should be taken by not one, but a few different doctors from a few different schoosl of thought, and considered by all and a persons ability to tell right from wrong should also be taken into consideration before a man is simply executed. There are too many facotrs to take into consideration before extinguishing a human life. Being that most people who do take life to those extremes are mentally ill... I don't believe death is the right action. I believe we can learn more from these people by studying them over a lifetime incarcerated than we can by removing them from the face of the earth. Modern medicine is discovering more and more on a very vague science through the study of these people and their backgrounds. For instance. There was a story of a man in Florida, who spent YEARS locked up as a habitial sex offender. He raped and murdered boys. Before being brought up for parole... He TOLD society and those in charge "Do not let me out, because I know I will do it again." Through a technicality, he was released shortly afterward. This same habitual predator... Kidnapped a young boy, raped him and severed his arms and legs and private parts and left him in the woods to die. The boy lived... That man... Tops my list of one of the people who should have been executed. He was not only allowed to do it again, he knew he would do it again. By not executing him... Society failed that child and his parents and THAT... is the real crime.
  • 1)Deicide 2)Speeding on the Autobahn 3)Riding a unicorn through Parliament 4)Swallowing cyanide pills 5)Playing Melt Banana at 3AM in an apartment building In short, nothing "deserves" the death penalty.
  • none. The death penalty is barbaric, petty revenge
  • Child Molestation Murder Rape yes. I know thats only 3
  • I oppose the death penalty.
  • I believe that there are criminals in the world that don't deserve to live or be kept alive but since human judgment is flawed I don't support the capital punishment. there is always a chance of executing the wrong person. Or maybe some criminals be kept alive in order to regret their evil deeds for the rest of their lives, that by itself is a great punishment. To answer your question anyway I'd say: 1-War criminals 2-Serial killers 3-Child molesters (more than one count) 4-serious torturers (more than one count) 5-Rapists (more than one count) And a combination of that I mentioned.
  • None! Certain countries such as the US, which engage in killing certain criminals, are hypocritical. The dollar, which happens to go hand-in-hand with God himself in the minds of most Americans, states "IN GOD WE TRUST". God would never support vengeance; so why don't we “TRUST” God’s judgment when it comes to the death penalty?
  • For the most part, I think most repeat criminals should be locked away and the key thrown away..BUT..some people commit crimes that are so heinous they have given up their right to exist with the rest of humanity..even inmates. Say what you will..that is my opinion and here is my list: 1. Murder of a child 2. Rape of a child 3. Rape/murder of an elderly person 4. Torture/murder of anyone. 5. Serial killers/rapists.
  • Child Molestation Child abuse Murder Rape Elderly Abuse
  • Child Murder Pedophilia Terrorism Rape/ Murder Serial Killers Quite a few more but they are five definnates
  • If they are proven absolutely: Child molestation/pedophilia Torture Preplanned murder Enslavement planned genocide.
  • I don't think death penalty will solve something. I prefer prison for life, so that they can suffer for their crime and not take the easy way out with death. List of crimes for prison for life I want: - Rape - Murder - Drug-dealing
  • Blanket and generic terms for crimes are not sufficient qualifiers. The nature, method, brutality, degree, and inhumanity (among many other factors) for every extreme crime have to be taken into consideration.
  • Whether or not a particular crime deserves the death penalty is a matter for the legislature in each country. I'm glad to say that I live in one of the countries which, like the majority of the civilised world, doesn't adjudge any crime to deserve the death penalty. Of the fully developed countries in the world only the USA, Japan and Singapore still use capital punishment, putting them (in this respect, at least) on a par with countries like China, Iran and Iraq.
  • 1. Premeditated murder ( sometimes called "Murder One." ) 2. Murder of a child under 12 years of age. 3. Treason. 4. "High crimes and misdemeanors" by high-ranking elected officials, federal or state. 5. Forcible rape.
  • Murder & rape, if i must choose any at all. Why? They are simply two things taken from someone that cannot be given back. I know that's not 5, but oh well.
  • RAPE MURDER CHILD MOLESTORS PHYSICAL ABUSERS (wife beaters, etc) ATTEMPTED MURDER (they always get out! what the hell?)
  • Crimes against Children by habitual predators that cannot be reformed by Chemical castration or rehabilitation. Murderers that are otherwise completly sane and rational and are aware of both the impact and the magnitude of their crime before during and after committing it. Crimes committed against a people or a country that jeopardize mass human life as we know it and compromise the safety of the free world. Serial killers and rapists who are not deemed criminally insane by a panel of experts after clinical medical and extensive mental testing. Criminals who are not able to be rehabilitated by any known means who openly admit that they will repeat their crimes if allowed out into society and comit the same crimes against inmates while incarcerated. Some criminals actually beg to die... They seldom execute them.
  • Rapists, child molesters, murderers, anyone who kills a cop, fireman, medic, anyone who is caught selling drugs to kids, anyone convicted of terrorism...
  • Murderers Pedophiles Child Abusers Rapists
  • Murderers, rapists, child molesters, ect.

  • 1- Murdering. 2- Raping a child [if a child under 15 (my view) consents, then prison not death penalty]. 3- Attempting to murder (I don't mean when the person deciedes not to). 4- Torturing people (especially children). 5- Torturing, killing, and having sex with animals.
