  • On a Failure to appear they can hold you as long as they want to because you are considered a flight risk. They are not going to take the chance on having to hunt you down and waste valuable manpower and money when they already have you in custody. The up side? All of that time that is pulled while the person is waiting on a court date comes off of their total sentence. You MAY be able to get bail again but definitely will not be released OR simply because you already have failed to appear. And bail is not going to be as cheap as it was the first go around simply because the person already had one chance. The best bet is to just sit there, suck up the time since you have no other option, get an attorney and when you do get a court date try and get time served for the incident.
