• I would not be surprised if that was all it was.
  • You know, I've never thought about that. It's just static, right? Maybe we could buy some cheap radios, break them, and sell them as "Deluxe Model White Noise Machines" at a HUGE profit!
  • Sounds like what they make space sound like in the movies:)
  • Doesnt this question sort of reveal that you've all been at a psychiatrist's office? *blink* Just sayin'.
  • White noise listens to the space between all the structured noise in real time. Recording it would not be the same.
  • 5-9-2017 They apply a current to a diode. They adjust the current and filter the noise to the band they want. That works for anything from audio to UHF. (Not necessarily with the same diode.)
  • It was invented by Mr.White, and don't even try to bootleg his 'intellectual property' or he'll sue you!
  • It's actually a relatively simple electronic circuit with two transistors and a handful of other components. White noise is made of random frequencies which cover a wide range of the audible limits with equal level. So what you want to construct is an unstable oscillator (tone generator).
