Having gone through it, that's a good description of it.
-
Nah..at least you have a car. lol...
-
more like someone burying you with mud
-
sounds good. I use to describe it as falling into a big hole with NO end to that hole..a neverending black pit and as soon as you think you see light a rain comes along and causes a landslide and covers up that hole. but you have it covered pretty well.
-
no it's more like taking a shit with out the toilet paper:)
-
That's actually a very good description of how it feels, FI. +5. I wish I could give you more.
-
More like walking on the side of the road through the rain. And then people stop to offer you a ride, but you tell them that you're fine, and that you like to walk through the rain. That's been my experience, anyway.
-
you could but i think of it more as a dark abyss with no end to the falling. after my mothers suicide when i was younger i fell into this abyss for years and lost some of myself as a result of that. but i am happy now, that is all that matters.
-
Almost but for me its more like being surrounding by killer bees whilst sinking in a sandpit
-
Its like a constipated Rhino sitting on your chest.
-
yes, or like trying to swim in a wool overcoat
-
no, more like a 2 ton weight pressing don on you with the controls to the crane just out of reach....
-
More like being locked up like in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" with the dog running away with the key...................
-
Speaking from experience, it is like going thru life with a thin vail over your eyes. Things are as brightm but not clear.
-
Yeah, that sounds about right.
-
I don't know if I'd put it quite like that but to use your analogy, depression is like driving through the rain without windshield wipers and not having the strength to care whether you're going to crash.
-
Very good, that about sums it up.
-
More like refusing to drive and just sit there in your car while everyone drives passed you, whether it's raining or sunny. That's more just being emo than it is depression, but whatever lulz. XD
-
sounds about right to me.
-
Driving through a dense fog blinfolded
-
No, because broken windshield wipers don't make me depressed, they make me angry! Of course, some people say that depression is anger without energy.
-
its more like sitting on the side of the road in a rain storm with no rain coat or umbrella, getting totally soaked knowing full well that no one cares a bit for your general health or good will.
-
Yes. I guess you're saying is it's like not being able to see your way through the storm. You can't see where you are going or don't know where you need to go. Don't keep driving in the rain without the wipers because you may get in an accident(in a situation you could have avoided). Seek medical help and turn the wipers on so you have a clear view in order to make the right decisions in and about your life.
-
Walking through the coldest, heaviest down pour of your life without an umbrella or rain boots, just seeps the cold into your bones and into your soul - that's how depression feels for me anyways.
-
No. It's like someone on a bad acid trip. Their thoughts are so out of control that it seems like they are doomed.
-
I would describe driving through the rain....as having a death wish, since generally you can stop and fix the problem pretty easilly.
-
Yea
-
That's only half of it. Now think about it without a windshield. Ya that's the way it is when your driving 70mph on a stormy night & a turkey hits your window.......LOL
-
I would describe depression as having your head on backwards and everyone who notices makes it worse by mocking you. but Im recovered-ing-whatevr- so now its like they have their head backwards an I just sigh. its weird
