You can attach them either by gluing them directly to the case, or by sewing them on a base fabric and then gluing it to the case. Be sure you use a glue that will be compatible with both the lighter case material and the beads. Read the labels, or talk to the sales clerk of the hobby store where you purchase the glue.

I use the tubular peyote stitch.. ive just learned how recently how to peyote stitch, but basically you put a stopper bead, a string of beads around your lighter, tape your thread to the lighter to hold your thread, and start adding one bead at a time to every second bead.. the second row will be staggered and you keep adding your rows to the length of the lighter.. you can add fringe or loops if you wish to it or leave as is..
