Put work before play...don't be lazy.
-
Dont be lazy. And put hard work into something that will last, other than taking the easy route with something that wont... ~+~
-
Build well, lest what you build be destroyed in the first strong wind of fate.
-
It's ok to be lazy and build a crappy house, because you can always just have your hard-working brother help you out if you get into trouble. Wait... maybe I missed the point of this story.
-
Use a bulldozer, it takes less effort.

It is a socialist manifesto. :) (before you start downrating, I am kidding) -- Almost It represents your irresponsible bretheren building substandard housing on subprime mortgages. Luckily, we may get a president who thinks we should force those who work hard and spend wisely to bail their little brothers out and fix their medical problems at the same time. We'll have the opportunity to use the powers of Socialism Instead of using the power of natural selection to strengthen our countries and communities. (sorry if that was dripping with sarcasm)

Build a solid foundation. :)

Considering how thrifty and conscientious the third pig was: spending more time making his brick cottage strong and not goofing off like the other two were; I would have to say that there several morals to this story. Hard work pays off. Better safe than sorry. Thrift and wisdom go hand to hand. Discipline and sacrifice lead people on the road to success.

-
that if you are a wolf it's probably easier to eat grandmas than pigs in brick houses
-
Make sure you build your house strong enough so that some wild animal can't come and huff and puff and blow it down!!!
-
Fairy Tales lie. Pigs can't build a house any more than they can shoot a gun or build a fox trap.

From the perspective of the pigs: hard work pays off. From the perspective of the wolf: laziness pays off. Think about it. The wolf gets his dinner by simply blowing air at the first two pig's houses. When he is adamant about eating the third pig, his perseverance is only paid back by his demise in boiling water or soup or whatever variant. The wolf could have stuck to easy meals of pigs in straw houses, that is, metaphorically, feeding on the weak-willed or weak-minded, and he would have continued to have prospered. The pig who put minimal effort into his home was devoured by the wolf, the pig who put more effort into his home was also devoured. Only the pig who was privileged enough to afford premium building materials that pigs obvious cannot normally access was allowed to survive. So, I guess the moral of the story is to either be born with a silver spoon or to prey on the weak.
