  • If you can stand the pain. I've never had one but I understand that breathing can be tough let alone exertion.
  • You can, but you should also listen to your body! Depending on the extent of your fracture may limit what you can do. Your MD should have explained this. If it is a small hairline fracture or butterfly fracture you may be able to work out, but feel pain. There is obviously no "cast" that you can wear to heal it. The best bet would be to hold off for 4-6 weeks and see if it can slowly fuse back together again and make it easier to workout!!
  • i wouldn't try sit ups haha but seriously, i'd rather just sit out for a a little bit and have it heal completely.
  • I fractured ribs a couple of years ago and just moderated certain exercises, such as using light weights when bench pressing Etc. it was painful but bearable, and there are plenty of other exercises you can do to keep your base fitness ticking over until you are back to full strength.
