Is anyone else taking the three monthly conception injection (depoprovera)? What are your side effects?

I took that years ago - once. I had vicious head-aches that came on very suddenly, which I also had on the three different pills I had tried, but with the shot it was worse. However, I've never known of anyone else to react the way I did, nor did my doctor.

My girlfriend was on it for a year. She felt fine but had a constant light period because of it. Now she has a weekly patch and likes it.

I had it for 6 months several months back. It seemed I had a worse temper and bruised easier. For sure, I had a 24/7 all month full duration bleeding. It was effective for about two months after too. I'm quite scared of that stuff now. My mother took it, she was perfectly fine.
