  • American food is the best....what are you talking about? shoot! lol
  • I don't know about the /American part. I'm American, I spent a week in the Liverpool and couldn't wait to get back to the US and actually taste food again.
  • British food is boring and dull. and there really isn't a true "American" food (except mac-n-cheese). American cuisine is from everywhere, and many things we have improved (or at least put our unique spin on). For example: Pizza was first documented as being made in France, but became an Italian staple, but when Italian immigrants came to American...history was made! You can say the same for many other dishes from all over the world. our food is a melting pot the same as our people are. we typically use more varity (and amounts) of spices and seasonings, we typically use a wider range of meats, grains, cheeses, vegetables. there is very little, culinary wise, that we have not figured out how to grow/raise in the States and we use all of it to some extent. but that said, nobody makes food like mom, so if you have students saying that the food at home is best....don't bother disaggreeing with them, you will probably not change their opionion.
  • Hey don't drag us into this, it's English food that's boring!
  • Who cares what the rest of the world thinks (restraunteers ignored). Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, parsnips, boiled veg and a slice of mum's gravy - every Sunday I eat in heaven. Fish and chips on a Monday. Curry on a Tuesday. Granny's receipe for toad in the hole Wednesday. Pie and mash on a Thursday. Ten pints and a kebab every Friday. T-bone steak with the football on Saturday, and Sunday I'm back in heaven.
  • whats better than steak and cold beer
  • I have never tried international food, just american, or americanized food.
  • BTW, the /American part of the question doesn't really make sense. America doesn't really have many of it's own dishes, as most of the edible stuff is imported receipes (through immigration). Most developed countries sell food from abroad, so Americans can't really say pizza is theirs (Italian pizza is so much better than the crap they make). So when you say British food, I suppose we should only consider the indigenous British recipies (forget Kebabs and curries). Incidentally, I love most food. I'm not that fate though (by some miracle).
  • Only in the west do we have the luxury of calling food boring. Much of the rest of the world is just glad to get their hands on food. I guess hunger is the best sauce.
