As a former member of Child Protective Services I think you should know that using an object to punish your children is seen in many states as abuse. But I think the bigger issue is why you think you need to hit your children. A belt - the noise is what gets their attention more than anything, and a belt makes the most aweful noise in the world. Not hard (I'm not cruel and don't want to hurt them), but enough to make some real racket. Usually don't have to do it twice. P.S. That's only for such things as ignoring me and doing something extremly dangerous - like running out into the parkinglot or street. If it's a minor offense, they either get stood in the corner or get a hand swat. Oh, and I always wait until I'm over the anger first so I don't actually hurt them physically.

On the very rare occasion I spank my kid, a single slap in the butt is more than enough. By the methods you list I infer it happens frequently. Please consider the consequences of these actions.

I USE A BELT AND SPANK THEM WITH IT 50 TO 100 TIMES YOU ALL SHOULD DO THE SAME OH AND ON THE BARE BUT VERY HARD IT MAKES THEM BE GOOD KIDS

Spank them witha belt yes. 25-45 TIMES. That is not abuse.And you should do on a bare but because then you can see when to stop. Stop when it is a red or dark pink

Does anyone one of you geniouses realize that so many kids are screwed up today because "we can't spank our kids, Oh, my god". I don't have kids, but I know ones that get spanked and ones that don't. The ones that do are well behaved and the ones that don't are brats. I see nothing wrong with a paddle if used only in very extreme circumstances and in limited use.

Don't use weapons. If it hurts your hand to swat them on the butt you are hitting them too hard.

Violence toward your children? There are certainly better ways to raise children. Violence begets violence. Society is violent enough without inflicting it on your own flesh and blood.

I have only ever spanked my son once, he learned. Usually all I have to do is tell both my kids what they did wrong, ask them if they want a spanking, they say no, and they dont do it again.
