  • I might be 100% wrong here, the older/higher mileage a car is, the less likely that a vehicle can create sufficent vacuum. When your accelerating vacuum levels are going to drop. The throttle plate is wide open or nearly wide open upon hard accel. This plate being open allows more atmospheric pressure into the engine balancing out the "lack of pressure/air or vacuum". There should be vacuum tank/reservoir to help aid in these scenarios have you checked that? As well a check valve should be in line between the tank and your hvac valve assembly (where all your vacuum lines go in for your mode controls).
  • There is a very good chance that is supposed to happen. Most vehicles have a switch (or software) that turns off the AC compressor when the engine is under heavy load.
