  • Here's the thing about this question and questions like it: it assumes a fact that I don't know to be true and then I am supposed to follow-up on it. Honestly, it sounds like this fact could be true. If so: then you have access to a resource that is more advanced then the general knowledge which...begs the question: why ask us?
  • Silver nitrate is used as an antiseptic in the eyes of many newborns after going through the birth canal as a weapon against any STDs. Once the silver nitrate wears off the true colors come shining through.
  • Isn't that only true of white babies? I don't think it's the silver nitrate, though; I think the pigment just doesn't come in until the eyes have been exposed to light for a few days.
