  • Yes, though there are two things you must know and/or consider. Calling someone crazy for doing one thing is quite different than saying that someone is crazy by nature. Also, crazy has a better connotation than mentally unstable, and while the phrase, "mentally unstable" sounds more clinical and more of a diagnosis, it is not usually said idely by those who know of mental illnesses.
  • I've been called both, but at least with mentally unstable I can take a pill, lmfao
  • Crazy is a "catch all" term that everyone uses now to describe another's behavior or thinking that seems odd or bizarre. It can be used in a jokingly way. It can also be used by those who have no background in psycholgical terms. Someone may do something that is EXTREMELY bizarre, odd, or abnormal, so they will be called "crazy" by most people. Mentally unstable is a more clinical term. However, some people that use it may be using it as an insult. With little background in psychology, just knowing the term is not an indication that someone is mentally unstable. A professional would not use the term "crazy". It's almost a no-no. All in all, don't believe everyone you hear. It takes a professional to diagnose someone as "mentally unstable".
  • yes siree bob, I'm called crazy all the time, but in a good, joking manner, I'm perfectly normal, and people know this.. now I know a chic that goes from saying she loves me, while knowing I absolutely hate her, then she freaks out at me for not talking to her, I tell her I hate her all the time, and the worst part, she knew me for one hour, and lives 850 miles away in south dakota, I met her when I went there.. THATS mentally unstable
