depends on local laws but I believe it is pretty common for a taser to be illegal, a stun gun is legal(there is a difference), and I doubt a home made one is any more legal.
-
Yes there legal. Go to Taser.com and you can buy one. They start at around $500.00 for the M-26 taser. The new and smaller X-26 taser starts at around $800.00. Each taser cartridge is around $30.00. the only difference is that the law enforcement tasers shoot the probes 21 feet as the civilian ones only shoot 15 feet.
-
You may be able to buy one but if you get caught with one, they ARE illegal.
-
As far as I know, stun guns are not legal to sell or own in NYS. If they were, the place I work would probably sell them.

Tasers are legal in certain states. For example Florida allows for the Open Carry of Tasers for Lawful Self Defence, but does NOT allow for concealed carry. Meaning you can carry it on your side like a police officer would his Duty Weapon. But it must be in sight at all times. Alabama does allow for the use of tasers for self defence as well Open carry or concealed.

Great! It's illegal to carry a tazer, but you can carry almost any type of gun, where it be a shotgun, handgun or a BB gun? Amazing! Total horseshit!

depends on where you live. i live in wisconsin, usa and you must either be in law enforcement or have some sort of license, like if you're a security guard or bounty hunter. i think you must be bonded and insured or something in wiscomsin. local laws vary.

It is very legal to open carry a taser gun on your hip here in Florida. I carry the x-26 one each day. I also carry a concealed glock 27 too. I have been asked twice by law enforcement to disarm, I complied, and upon looking up the statues, my gun was handed back to me and an apology was given. However you have to have a nice attitude with the cops. I am sure if you want to be a jackass they can be one too. Just be cool about it and you will be fine here in Florida.

I was asked to disarm because of the evident taser. The x-26 looks like a firearm from the side. Looks just like a handgun, but has 3 yellow stripes that run down the side. The holster looks like a handgun holster. But they ran my concealed weapons permit and it was valid so there was nothing to complain about. I dont like cops either but I dont want to get my ass whooped and tased and be on the national news either ;)
