Can a man and a woman really be good friends without it becoming a sexual relationship?

Yes, I have 2 real great friends that are guys and it isn't sexual at all, they're not gay either. We once had feelings for eachother but we're more like brother and sister and it's just wierd thinking of them in any other way but as brothers. Hope that helps!

It sure can. Some of my closest platonic friends are guys. I'm the only female in my band, and so Im always really good friends with musos minus any sexual feelings whatsoever.

yea, a man and a woman can both have something in common.. like both being a sports fan or something they both like and they can find each other to be interesting

Of course they can, but honestly, from experience, sex will take away the friendship. It might sound shallow or silly, but having sex will ruin or eliminate the possibility of friendship. Why? Because once the act is done, one might think the availability and option is there to have it again. And so it will be on their minds and occupy their thoughts... So a sex-ship might break out from it, but the friend-ship will never be the same.

yes...once its clear that no sex will be involved, yes...for YEARS in my experience..have to admit that (besides the gay ones) all the guys i'm great friends with now tried hooking up in the beginning

Sure. As long as they stay firm about being friends and nothing else. I was always told that friends don't kiss and they especially don't sleep together. So be real and be honest. If he/she is just a friend, don't cross the line, unless it is mutual. Then you have to decide which is more important, sex or the friendship. Usually the friendhips is more important and not worth ruining for a hit of sex, that would probably be whack due to the circumstances.

very possible. i have many guy friends it might be because im a tomboy but i just find it easyer to be friends with males. I mean i do like shopping and what not. But theres nothing like drinking a couple beers with the guys.
