The trouble with democracies is that the people are stupid. Is George Bush really the best that the people could come up with? Long term problems are ignored for the sake of the next election. No point thinking long term if you're not there to make it happen! The only real problem with monarchies is that it is so hard to get rid of an evil dictator. But at least a good king can concentrate on long term solutions without having to account for his actions to a gullible public all the time. What good is a democracy if you only ever choose between bad and worse? Gimme a good leader and it won't matter whether he was voted in or born in to power - just make sure he is GOOD!
