When doing your situp, make sure you are keeping your abs tight for the whole rep. Don't relax at the top of the movement. Instead flex your abs Hard at the top. Don't use any other muscles to cheat either. Refrain from using your arms to pull on your head. You could strain your neck or back that way. I prefer keeping my hands in front of my chest instead of behind my neck. Situps are good, but you should mix up your abdominal exercises. Do crunches, reverse crunches, bicycles, leg raises, and side bends to get a more full ab workout. There are hundreds of different ab exercises, but stick with the basics for now! good luck!
