No, I am almost sure the staff, and many users know how I feel about this, and some of them share the same feelings. There is nothing wrong with asking questions, that is the foundation of this site. But, the staff is really going to have to draw a bolder line eventually, like they do with everything else. Rich once told me ( quote...) "we generally let the community's opinion rule the day." I have seen many members speak their opinion on this topic. Long time members and new members alike. Most of us agree these questions are a form of spam. With that said, I have another quote from the staff.Sorry, Rich, ( quote ) "Posting repetitive, copy-and-paste answers is against our policy, and spams the board." Should it not be the same for questions? I hope this answer is not taken as an attack to the staff, that is not what my intentions are here.

The answer is NO. AB is MORE than just a question/answer database. It's a socially interactive forum where people may post not only answers, comments, and opinions, but also interact with each other on a more personal level. I do not like the idea of 'bots at all on AB in the first place due to this. Heck, might as well make the site another google search engine, then. As for the competition, I don't favor competition solely for the purpose of asking a bunch of otherwise nonsensical BS questions just to achieve some dubious notoriety as "The dude what asked a sh*tload of nonsense questions on Answerbag". If you have questions, by all means ask them. But if you want to play games with all the BS...I have young kids who are very artful at that because it's their nature. I'm dealing with adults here, not a bunch of pre-school and grade school kids here. (Wellllllllll....... you know what I mean) 'nuff said.

a user that is trying to overtake a bot has lost the plot. Of course I think that anyone behaving like a bot just asking a bunch of questions and doesn't acknowledge most of the answers should be dealt with by the staff.

OMG! This is the best question ever. All we can do is pray that lightning strikes his block and fries out his harddrive, although he'll probably peddle his petty ass down to the library on his training-wheel clad bike and post from there, provided his houseparents will let him out. That guy is breathing my oxygen, I swear to God. DISCLAIMER: I make no secret about my disdain for the person in question. We all know who we're talking about here. He Who Must Not Be Named, for fear of PB-ing, is a Dee-de-Dee of the First Order.

Ugh. No. Definitely. We post questions because we either want to add meaningful content to this website, or to know what others think about certain issues, among others. We should not, repeat, not post questions simply because we want to become "most inquisitive." Personally I don't see anything wrong with people wanting to get a certain title. Some people are really competitive. It's one of the reasons why we have the Olympics and other sports events. But we all know that there are certain users who just post questions, and never acknowledge any of the answers they receive (no points, no comments). ... Anyway, I think this is a good solution to the problem: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/981322

I don't mind bots working the site, but I do mind bots showing up on the leaderboard. I know they are probably automatic, but I feel like there has to be some way for the bots to not be counted on those boards. But what I'd love to see is a cap on how many questions we can ask, either a day or even better, a week. Let's face it we do need questions to we don't need spamming done here. I also think that any set of questions that is similar to each other by one or two words, after 5 of them, it should be considered SPAM! unless they are done by a bot. If it's a real member, then it would be a nono, so AB-Bernice can ask "What's the geography of _____" to everywhere in the planet and it's still okay.

Well I am in 16t place for that but he has like 200 more questions that I do an well that ain't going to happen.
