Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Especially when it sounds like something serious. The most annoying are all of the "am I/could I be pregnant questions. I mean seriously, either make an appointment with your doctor, or got down to the Walgreens/CVS and get a home pregnancy test. Is it really that hard??

I think some, dont know what they might have, and asking gives them ideas on what it might possibly be. I ask some, because I was ill for four years, my doctors couldnt figure out what I had. I was hoping someone else may have the same symptoms, and I did find a couple people that did, so we traded ideas on how to deal with it.

Because many are just asking for the sake of trying to ask an intellectual question. Chances are they already have the answer they are seeking but with these type of questions chances are they will not get flagged and some will give sympathy points.

Most people on Answerbag are from the USA where they have to pay to see a doctor.

I have often wondered that. I did ask a question the other day about what causes kidney stones because I was hoping someone might know. i had researched it and had kept getting different answers. I had asked my doctors and they kept saying "nobody knows" so I thought someone might know. my MD's here are sort of incompetant or just do not care. I do get upset with the "am I pregnant questions" and the questions that describe color, size, flow, etc of certain bodily functions".. that is something I could do without knowing.

Damn it! I just asked the same question. It seems a bit retarded when you read the answers that some give. Even if you are without insurance (as many are in the US) there are still a number of credible sources on the web. I don't know, maybe some people just have more faith in humanity than I do.. ;)
