Why dont my brake lights turn off when my car is off?

Possibly because brake light switch is bad.

Hook your toe under the brake peddle and pull upward. If the light goes out it is most likely the switch needs adjusting. If it stays on then it could be a bad switch or it has come out of its holder. Most brake light swithes are located on the shaft above the brake peddle. Find it and try adjusting towards the bumper for it thus pushing the switch button in. adjust until the lights go off. If they still don't go off the switch is bad just replace it and adjust.
