Calling a male a "boy" after about 14 or 15 is usually considered an insult.
-
Just play it safe and refer to every guy as a man. You dont know what responsibilities the 18 yr old kid might have. Those responsbilities might make him a man.

Easily until his 20s by some older people. And for some people it's just fine no matter what age you are as in "Good ol' boy". It's no different than a woman being called a girl even when she's in her 20s or 30s. It's the tone it's said in, not the word that make sit derogatory or an insult.

A boy doesn't become a man until he is put into a situation where a man is needed.

hm. id say quite old, cos you always get like, scary old men saying to guys maybe in their 20s "come here boy" or something like that. in a scary old man voice obviously lol.
-
It depends on the level of his maturity. A 15-year-old can be a "young man" if he is mature. A 20-year-old can still be a boy if he acts like a kid. Happy Saturday! :)

I'm 54 and I still like it when my woman calls me her boy!
-
I consider a single woman a girl no matter what her age is, maybe you can use this term for a single man. Though i don't think men appreciate it to be called boy after a certain age (mostly when they reach their twenties)!

Depends upon the wearing ,talking, physical appearance, habits or body language of the person. Age is not the matter to count
