I have very curly hair (ringlets) and I want to get that sexy loose wave look (j-lo/beyonce). I don't want to get it chemically straightened and I can't afford one of those fancy ghd straighteners. Anyone know and cool secret tips to loosen curls?

well my hair is really curly and it might be easier for me to make waves with mine b/c I recently cut it so its pretty short..but I just brush it out and form the waves with a comb while its wet and it lasts all day with leave in conditioner.

One way to achieve waves from curls is to use really large curlers (2+ inches in diameter). However, to avoid frizz, sometimes I straight my roots first (or I do this a day after straightening completely), then spray the length of my hair three inches from the scalp with water, and neatly brush it out and roll semi-wet hair into the curlers. Use a leave-in conditioner, and if you use a defuser then don't blow-dry too close to your head! the less you touch it while in the curlers, the better.
