I met many when in the military in the Far East. I even picked Australia for my "R&R". Only two weeks, but it was a good time. I was made to feel welcome. My dad met many during WWII in the Pacific. He liked them. He called them "diggers"...ha! But, that was what they called themselves. Aussies and Americans have a lot in common. We are both from a pioneer ancestry. We settled and populated a new continent. We have a similar representative and democratic form of government. We are both crazy and wild, still, in many ways. We are both often still "looked askance" at by the Old World and Mother Country, but we both tell them to go soak their heads. (lol)

I like people in general...so Yes, I like Australians. I like the Australian accent and have never met an Australian that was unkind to me. I've met Australians that were foreign exchange students (in high school), and co-workers on an collaborative international work assignment, where we all got to meet here in the states...and of course, several here, on AB.
