Detroit Lions is in fact the correct answer, their record of 23-71 from 2001 to the present day is a winning % of just .245. The Houston Texans have fewer wins than Detroit in this period with a record of 22-56 (.282 win %), however they only came into existence at the start of the 2002 season so have only played 4 full seasons prior to the present one. This winning % is still however the lowest recorded over the last six years in the AFC. If we discount them, the worst record in the AFC in the 6 year period is the Cleveland Browns at 35-59. For comparison, the best record over the same period belongs to the New England Patriots at 68-26 (.723 win %); in the NFC it is Philadelphia Eagles at 62-32.
