If the fan on your power supply does not work, the power supply may overheat. This would in turn probably add more heat that the additional fan could handle. I would advise getting a new (maybe more powerful) power supply and keep the extra fan. That way you know you have a reliable power supply in your PC.

I plugged my computer into a station that was running 230v power. It will no longer turn on of course. I would like to know what will need to be replaced to repair it. I was thinking it would be the whole power supply, am I correct?

My power supply stopped working after I tried to scan with my new color laser printer on. Both heavy power users. I checked and am sure the PSU is bad. I installed a new PSU and everything powers up but I can't get a picture. Tried resetting the BIOS.

You're reading I have a pc i got back in 2000 the power supply seems to work although the fan does not i have added a replacement fan attached to the inside of the pc at the front to the front vent will this replacement fan keep my mother board from burning
