Could turn in to an affair of the heart. All your emotional feelings are given to that person, even though you don't have sex. You aren't giving your s/o your complete emotional support. For sure.

Not in my opinion .. but i'm sure it is in the minds of those who can't or won't accept that there are many kinds of love and the sharing of one kind need not detract from, threaten or damage the other kind :)

I am emotionally attached to my friends, male as well as female. I'm a one-guy gal and Jim is the guy. But my friends are my friends because of attachment and that includes emotional! :)

By the wording of your question it makes me think that by being emotionally attached you would have strong loving and caring feelings for that someone else and yes that can cause more trouble in your marriage than physical cheating. It is a matter of where your heart is. It will make you withdraw from your spouse.

Most people will say yes, but one person can't be all things to another person, sometimes you need more than your spouse can give you. I think you can love more than one person at a time.

Yes.When the marriage is all about trust and faith and if one of them is doing something which will cause the bonds to weaken then it would destroy the marriage.

Yes. When you are investing your emotions into someone other than your spouse, you are depriving them of the feelings that you should be giving them. To me, an emotional affair is just as bad as a physical one...in some ways, maybe even worse.
