is that supposed to be a) ((1/8)x) - 9 ? b) (1/(8x)) - 9 ? or c) 1/(8x-9) ? You have to be careful with brackets when you use the '/' symbol. In case (c): use change of variable: t=8x-9 then dt = 8dx now you are integrating (t=-inf to -9) of (1/8)(1/t)dt 1/t goes to (ln |t|) + C so now you want (1/8)(ln |-9|) - (1/8)(ln |-infinity|) which is infinite. Some idea for the other cases.
