No it doesnt decrease a woman's sex drive, I have been on both low-dose and a higher dose and I felt no different from even before I started taking either one of the pills.

Come on, I know someone else out there has to have heard something about this! Antigone? Mama Bear? Auntie Em???

Generally it depends on the woman and each individual body. When you are on the pill you are given estrogen, this tricks your body into thinking that it is preganant therefore not releasing an egg each month. YOur body will react in the same way it does when you are pregnant. In theory your labido is more dormant during this time but that is not true for all women. It is a fact that depo provera is used to decrease the sexual labido of a sex offender or pedaphiler. they use it in the prison and also when they get out. Depo is mostly progesterone so if your pill is more progesterone then it might decrease your sex drive.

Pharmacutical companies definately put a decreased sex drive on the possible side effects. I am on Loestrin and have also been on Depo (had to stop because it made me depressed) and my sister has the patch. In all cases the product labels and our doctors have told us that a decrease (or increase) in a woman's sex drive may take effect. Also, other common side effects are the loss/gain of apetite, the loss/gain of weight, the loss/thickening of your hair. Basically, as previously stated somewhere here, it depends on the person. People aren't supposed to take Depo if they have a history of depression. My family does not have a history of depression and yet as a side effect of the shot I am still overcoming the daunting side effect.
