I personally think the Gov should not bail out any company. I don't agree with the bailouts that have happened lately. Isn't this country built on free enterprise? If you fail you fail...if you are a success then so be it. These bailouts send a message to America. "If my company fails, so what? The Feds will fix it for me".

No they should not. They created the mess now they wish to punish the citizens.

The reason to bail one and not the other is because of the amount of damage to other people. Lehman mostly did deals with other banks and big corporations, who are expected to look after themselves. AIG did a lot of business with individuals, who may find it much harder to sort out the mess. If AIG goes bust, and your drivers insurance is with AIG or a subsidiary, it is no longer valid and you cannot drive legally. And if you do drive, and hurt someone, they have no insurance to claim on. And I think that applies to 1/10 of all driver in the US. The same with houses - if your house is insured with AIG and it goes bust - tough luck. And a lot of other things. So the reason for baling out AIG and not Lehman is to protect the little guy, the ordinary consumer.

By the "feds" do you mean the federal government of the USA or the Federal Reserve System? If you mean the federal government NO they should not do so. If you mean the Federal Reserve, they are a private corporation (NOT federal and NOT a reserve) they control all the currency used in the USA. If they want to "bail out" a company and not charge it to the federal government that is their decision. The general public does not realize the USA has no currency...it all belongs to the Federal Reserve and is the main reason for the national debt...If you need more information and proof of this please read the following information: http://www.lovethetruth.com/federal_reserve.htm

No, but from what I am hearing these days we have somehow already linked these entities to the Government for funding some how. So this is the next logical progession we are not much in the way of Capitalist these days.
