Good question, no idea. Probably more dollars than there are people in the US.

Gates pays very little income tax I suspect...a poster boy with Warren Buffet for very significant (and required) alternate minimum federal income tax. Gates presently funds many charitable causes through his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Gates did little for charity before his marriage to Melinda, and was in fact frequently and significantly criticized for his crass charitable giving. Gates has turned this around 180 degrees, I suspect again with prodding from wife Melinda. One’s legacy, after all, is an important motivation in achieving life’s superior self-actualization stage. I too, would really like to know what income taxes both Gates and Buffet pay.
