Ummm...why would you want to do such a thing? When bass guitar strings are new, they produce brilliant highs and resonant lows, and are extremely responsive. As strings age, the dust, grime, and oils from the player’s hands stick to the strings, dulling their response and tone.

I agree with the VP but just wanted to add that if you are looking for that vintage tone you can still purchase flatwound strings. They're wound with metal ribbon insted of wire. They are sometimes hard to find but they last forever.

um play after eating something really greasy like fried chicken..and play the hell outta that thing, your strings will be old in no time
