I'd like to be a dog. They aren't expected to be as sophisticated as cats and I'd prefer to be relaxed and unsophisticated.

I would want to be a dog, but that would be contingent on WHOSE dog I was. If I was MY dog, I would be soooo happy, because I know how spoiled I would be!!

I'd rather be a Rabbit... But out of those choices I would pick dog, I think I would be a large dog who was way over-protective of my owner...I also would be jumping the fence a lot to visit that poodle down the street...

A cat. Can't be doing with dogs, all that hero-worshipping... Cats are the real bosses. They chose to live with us, they deign to live with us, they own us. We do their bidding. We are honoured. And if we're very good, they might come and sit with us.
