Photo Booth comes free with Apple's Mac OS X. If you are not running OS X then you can't use it. Windows of any kind will not run it. I suspect with an HP notebook you are probably running a version of the Windows OS, perhaps Vista. Depending on the hardware of your notebook you might be able to load up OS X and therefore be able to use Photo Booth. Check out Hackintosh.com to see if you can use OS X. Hope this helps.
