If you only recently noticed this Washington insider phenomenon, you clearly are exhibiting acute symptoms of selective memory syndrome. I believe that I heard the words "I don't recall" uttered by the effete elite more during the Clinton administration than any other in recent history. Lying to Congress was, if you recall, the reason the the President had been impeached. Nevertheless, systematic obfuscation and routine deceit is not "owned" by either party. It began early in the past century under Woodrow Wilson, and has not stopped since.
