No big deal, I've done that plenty of times. 5 hours is child's play, as far as car trips go. When it gets to be closer to 8 or 10 hours, then you may want to reconsider doing it in one weekend. :)
-
It's reasonable. I wouldn't want to do it, but it's not too bad.
-
I'm tired just thinking about it. :o(
-
I think driving five hours even one way for a weekend is too much. If I were going to drive that much I want an entire week before coming back.

-
I could do it, and I might enjoy it actually.
-
not at all - if done once in awhile - not every weekend that would be too much
-
For one weekend if something really big was going on I would definitely do it. But I wouldn`t want to do it more than once, it would have to be a one time deal.

Get out a stretch your leggs for curculation every hour or so, just a fiew minutes like take a walk around the car 6 times.
-
That's a walk in the park. I'm planning an 11 hour trip (each way) to go see a football game. Done it many times.

I have to drive 4 hours each way to see my hunny bunny on the weekends. I don't do it every weekend, but I do it a lot. It's not that bad. I go to work packed on Friday and just leave straight from there. I make sure my house is clean and all my laundry done so when I come back, I can arrive just in time to hop in bed on Sunday night. Takes me a full tank of gas, and I just rip some good cd's and enjoy the countryside. He's so wonderful, it's worth it, so I suppose it just depends on what you're driving for!
-
that's what we have to do when we want to visit our family/friends. In a weekend 2x5 is not too much, but we're very tired when we do it in only one day!
-
I used to drive 5 hours each way every other weekend and didn't think it was too much, but then again, I was younger.
-
It all depends on your conditioning. If one hour is the longest you've ever spent behind the wheel, five will seem like an eternity!! For the professional truck driver that does that kind of thing for a living, it's not a problem because they drive twice that everyday. (at least)
-
Not that big of a deal! (ask me again on Monday) ;)

How about almost that in one day? When Jim and I were living in Riverside, we were hungry for some good roast beef one morning..so we talked it over and decided to drive up the 5 to Harris Ranch..a distance of maybe 240/250 miles one way. We left around 8am, drove up..ate a magnificent roast beef meal, got gas for the trip home and drove back home..in one day. So our trip took about 4 hours each way, just for lunch and we didn' think that was odd at all. In fact when we told that to our server, we were gifted with two Harris Ranch coffee mugs! So 5 hours each way in one weekend should be a piece of cake! :) ((hugs))

If the roads are not going to be too crowded I think its no big deal but then I LOVE long drives.
-
Depends very much on the WHY. If it is to attend something important...then 5 hours is nothing. You can really enjoy that time. I buy books-on-CD and enjoy listening to a good story....
-
it's no big deal, since I go every weekend to visit my parents and it's a 5 hour drive.
-
It doesn't seem like that big of a deal but then again it depends on where you're going. “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” - St. Augustine

A 5-hour bike ride is no problem. My longest ride was 14 hours one-way. I do not drive a car, and don't plan to.
-
Personally not a big deal!
-
I used to do 300 miles, i.e. 5 hours each way to go to VA to see my sister at least every other month. Not a big deal if something you really want is at the end of the journey.
-
thats putting alot of miles on your car........... thats all im gonna say
-
I've drove 5 and a half! No it's normal for us that is...
-
