I lived in Sweden for 19 months in the late '80's (dont ask) When I got there, the first thing they all wanted to know when they found out I was from New York was, "Wow, have you ever been mugged? Did you ever mug anybody?" Later on, at the bar I worked at, I would have a gaggle of drunken Swedes standing in a semi-circle around me, begging me to "Please curse again! Say it again! Say it again! That is SOOOOO COOOOL!" When they curse in English, it just never comes out the same;)

OMG! I was just in NYC last week (for the 1st time) I was born in Syracuse but never made it to the city so I was really excited and it was much more than I ever expected. I know what you mean by the accents. I was in New Jersey at a Taco Bell and I almost asked them to continue to talk because I was mesmorized by their accents ;)
