  • yes, both exist.
  • Well, i can tell you that the USMC are not better "trained" than the RM's. The RMC's have the longest and toughest training programme out of any NATO force in the world. Royal Marine Commando Training-32 weeks USMC Training-12 weeks You can't beat training and experience. Well USMC can since they just rely on their air support:P. Regardless RMC, 7400 vs USMC 194,000. That sort of specialist training would be a waste of time/money for such a large force.
  • Spent 6yrs.in the USMC,4 of which were in Force Recon.Regular Marines are a nasty bunch but would have a small problem with the RMC.Having said that, for politness sake,Force Recon Marines would kick their bloody little butts.
  • Royal Marines are special forces its kind of stupid to try and Compare them with a conventional force. Also the British military is the best trained in the world because unlike the United states they dont have the numbers to rely on.
  • All in all a basic Recon Marine will spend the first 2 years in training; however in order to qualify for Recon, you must be E-3 or greater and E-5 or greater for Force Recon. 13 weeks accounts for bootcamp. 4 weeks for Infantry Training. MOS training (1-70 weeks) 1 week Recon Indoctrine 12 weeks Jump School 8 Weeks Halo/Haho School 6 Weeks Mountain Warfare School 3 Weeks SERE Sschool 6 Weeks Recon/Survelance School 4 Weeks Combatant Swimmers/Scout Swimmers Course 4 Weeks Advance Close Combat/Close Quarters Instruction 8 Weeks Amphibious Assault Course 6 Weeks Communications School W/ Crypto 2 Weeks Advanced Land Navigation Course 7 Weeks Field Weapons Course 3 Weeks Stalking/Survelance. 4 Weeks Advanced Infantry Tactics 6 Weeks Anti-Terrorism/Counter Intel course 4 Weeks MOUT Training As a former active 2nd MarSOC Marine with 2nd Recon, I have done quite a bit of cross training with the RM Commandos and they are a good solid group; however they come to US to cross train with us for the reason to hone individual and unit skills in which they lack the ability to obtain in thier traditional schools. They are a good group but not to the extent that you are led to believe. Thier training is very limited outside of physical training. We consider them counterparts regardless of nationality. Yes, the USMC has nearly 200,00 personell; however that is the general population of the Marine Corps and not Recon or Force Recon. about 1 out of every 400 Marines are good enough to make it into recon and far less than that for Force Recon due to Force Recon being comprised of Senior Staff NCOs. Most Marines spend thier 4 years and get out and do not stay in long enough to pick up enough rank to become a Staff NCO, therfore it narrows the margine significantly for Force Recon candidates. Of the 200,000 Marines, roughly 25% are Infantry based which narrows that margine down quite a bit as well. Granted, all Marines are trained as a rifleman, only Marine MOS with the specialty number in the 0300 field are actually Infantry. So in regards to the 32 weeks of training in comparrison to the 100+ weeks of a US Recon Marine, your argument does not hold water, especially coming from someone that has trained with them day in/out for months on end. As I have stated, they are solid and have heart, and heart is a kew element in what it takes to win; however heart makes up only 40% the other 60% is in the training and how serious you take your job. Also, the RMs also have an Air Wing Support Group, Supply Battallions, Admin, Motor Transport, and... Thank you and I hope this helps to clear any saturation that may be caused for poorly presented arguments.
  • Royal Marines, because they are British, and therefore best!
  • Neither, I'll take a Hooters girl:)
  • The british military with all it's centuries of experience and due to it's small numbers IS the best trained force in the world.. Now only being reasonable to say.. man for man, the Royal Marines are far more superior to US marines... Their combative fitness, sharpness and DISCIPLINE is by far superior.. they dont have females! Compared the basic training course, Royal Marine Commando Training-32 wks vs USMC Training-12 wks. Also look at the average physique of a Royal Marine.. they're much more athletic.. even the naturally bulky guys get quite trim if they survive Royal Marine training.. they are hardly as bulky as the USMC. Their physical endurance training is IMMENSELY punishing!!! and last but not least... the Royal Marines are distinctly different in that they are COMMANDOS.. Commandos being specialists in crossing enemy lines in small efficient numbers 6to engage a target(AS IN WORLD WAR 1), which may involve treking many dozens of miles carrying 40-60pounds of additional weight.. they're survival specialists too.. it all explains their superior fitness!
  • the navy seal he`d sneak up on them
  • I vote for the Royal Marine! ... I think it might be treason if I don't
