Will the fast moving Islamification of Russia will effect the region's political stability?

Unfortunately, I believe it will affect Russia’s stability in a negative way. I say that because of the radical and sometimes violent Islamic movement that is trying to gain momentum worldwide may already be making inroads inside Russia’s borders ( I am not sure if that is currently the case). Also, in the past. Russia and the former USSR have dealt rather harshly with some of the Muslim population in certain regions and in certain cases. This baggage is now being carried by the current administration, which has been harshly clamping down on other faiths other than the Russian Orthodox Church. In the past, Russia has been Xenophobic and racist in some of it’s policies. This is ironic when you consider the diverse makeup of the population of this huge nation. Russia’s economy is dependent on all of it’s people being included in it’s future growth, especially since it’s birthrate is so low and it’s population is shrinking according to the leading financial publication, “The Economist”. If Russia is to succeed, it must move forward with all of it’s people, including it’s growing Muslim population.

Islamification in any culture thourghout the world is a negative. Once again, World war will be because of religious beliefs. And it has already started. WWIII Has already started.

Can't compete with the scholars above. Great stuff. The simple answer is that the effect of an opposing culture will effect politics and society. Russia has already faced Islamification in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and even Moscow. Remember the theater bombing and hostage episode? Islamification will be met head on in Russia, and it will be nasty. The Russians don't fool around. They take action without regard to political correctness or world opinion. Islamification is a rising tide that will be difficult for cultured nations to defeat. Again, it is a faceless, unorganized aggressor. Only a brutal response will effect its brutal tactics. I wish it were otherwise, but it is the most desperate fighter than determines the level of force necessary to prevail. Joy to the World and Peace on Earth!
